Our Estate Claim Program provides you an outlet to send accounts on which you’ve received notice of a deceased patient. We monitor the probate system for as long as 2 years for notice of an estate being filed. Once an estate is filed we then file a claim to protect your interests and work with the executor to obtain the best settlement possible.
Recent changes in Indiana law have shortened the amount of time creditors have to assert their rights against a deceased debtor.
Currently claims against an estate must be filed within 3 months after an estate has been opened or 9 months after the decedent died, whichever is earlier.
Our office will pursue all possible avenues of payment either before these accounts are written off or the time limit has passed to pursue the estate.
